Locating and enabling new features
Switch on optional features like Daycare Quick Check-In, bulk actions and route mapping, and try the new dashboard.
Kennel Connection adds new features from time to time. Some are turned off until you're ready to use them. The New Feature Settings page is where you switch them on and set them up.
Open New Feature Settings
- Go to Administration > Manage > New Feature Settings.
- If your business uses an administrator login, you'll be asked to sign in as an administrator first.
- Make your changes and click Save. Click Cancel to leave without saving.
Note: Only administrators can save changes on this page.
The sections you see depend on what's available for your business, so you may not see all of the ones below.
Daycare Quick Check-In
Quick Check-In lets staff check in daycare pets with fewer clicks.
- Tick Enable Daycare QuickCheckin.
- Under Daycare Quick Check-In Defaults, choose the default Primary Service:, Room: and Day Type:.
- Click Save.
Tip: To pick a primary service, Enable Advanced Primary Services must be turned on in Administration > Set-up > System Options > Global Options.
Staff can then use Add Appointment > Daycare Quick Checkin.
Bulk actions
Under Allow bulk operations, choose which employees can Check in, Check out or Complete several appointments at once for Boarding, Daycare, Grooming and Special Services. You can also choose who can send bulk texts. See "Use bulk processing".
Route mapping
If you offer mobile services, Route Mapping Settings lets you set your Start/End location (where you drive from and back to each day), Start of Day and End of Day times.
Try the new dashboard
To preview the new dashboard, go to About > Try New Features! > New Dashboard.
Other optional settings
Some features are switched on in System Options instead, such as Enable Advanced Primary Services and Use New Email Template System in Global Options. See "Change system options".
Common questions
I don't see New Feature Settings in my menu. Why? It only shows when there's a new feature available for your business.
Can I turn a feature off again? Yes. Untick it and click Save.
Where can I read about what's new? Go to About > What's New. See "Get help, send feedback, and see what's new".
