Clover Payment Processes, but Invoice Shows Unpaid

EveryoneUpdated 10/16/2026

If a Clover payment succeeds in CardPointe but the invoice still shows as unpaid in Kennel Connection, these steps help you correct the invoice and receipt without charging the card again. This keeps your payment records accurate and helps prevent duplicate charges.

If a payment successfully processes through a CardPointe integrated Clover device, but the invoice still shows as unpaid in Kennel Connection, this is typically caused by a brief network disruption during the transaction.

The payment may have been successfully completed in CardPointe, but Kennel Connection did not receive the confirmation needed to mark the invoice as paid.

How to Correct the Invoice

  1. Confirm that the payment successfully processed in CardPointe.
  2. Open the unpaid invoice in Kennel Connection.
  3. Pay out the invoice using Cash as the payment type.
  4. Open the receipt for the payment.
  5. Change the payment type on the receipt from Cash to the correct credit card payment type.

This will allow the invoice to show as paid in Kennel Connection while keeping the receipt's payment type accurate.

Important: Do not attempt to process the customer's card again if the transaction is already showing as successful in CardPointe, as this could result in the customer being charged twice.
