StaffUpdated 10/30/2026

Use the search box at the top of the screen to find any client in seconds. From the client's page you can update their contact details, see their pets and appointments, and check their account.

Find a client

  1. Click in the Search Clients/Pets box at the top of the screen.
  2. Start typing. You can search by the client's name or their pet's name, and also by phone number.
  3. Matching clients appear in the Client Explorer panel on the left.
  4. Click the client to open their page.

To clear the search, click the X at the end of the search box.

Tip: By default, the Client Explorer shows active clients. To find a client who was marked inactive, click the gear icon at the top of the Client Explorer, tick Clients next to Show inactive, and click Save. (This option is not available on every account.)

What's on the client page

The top of the page shows the client card with their address, phone, email and pets, plus the Book button (and an SMS button if texting is turned on). Below that are tabs:

  • Notes: general notes, a Warning and an Invoice Warning.
  • Additional Notes: dated notes with a subject (if turned on for your business).
  • Edit: names, address, phone numbers, email, emergency contacts and other settings.
  • Pets: the client's pets and the New Pet button.
  • Travel: mileage, cross streets, gate code, driving directions and parking restrictions.
  • Financial, Appointments, Documents and Packages.
  • Call History: only if your business has the phone (VOIP) add-on.

Edit the client's details

  1. Open the client and click the Edit tab.
  2. Change the details you need, such as Address 1, phone numbers or email.
  3. Click Save at the top of the page. Click Cancel to leave without saving.

Other useful settings on the Edit tab, under Others:

  • Prospective Client: tick for people who haven't booked yet.
  • Disable SMS: stops all text messages to this client.
  • Opt Out of Mass SMS and Opt Out of Mass Email: keeps the client out of marketing messages.
  • Inactive: hides the client from normal searches (if available on your account).

Note: If you see "Your access rights don't allow you to modify this client's details", you can view the client but not change them. Ask your manager if you need access.

Common questions

I can't find a client I know is in the system. Why? They may be marked inactive. Turn on Show inactive in the Client Explorer settings, or try searching by their pet's name or phone number.

Do changes save automatically? No. Click Save at the top of the page after making changes on the Edit, Notes or Travel tabs.

How do I add a second owner? Use the 2nd First Name and 2nd Last Name fields on the Edit tab.
