Record a pet's belongings

When a pet arrives with its own things, record them on the appointment. Everyone on shift can see what came in, you can print a belongings list, and Kennel Connection can remind you at check-out that the pet has items to hand back.

Belongings must be turned on for your business. If you don't see a Belongings button, ask your manager.

Add belongings from the appointment

1. Open the appointment (for example, choose View Appointment from the pet's menu).
2. Click Belongings.
3. In the Belongings window, tick what the pet brought: Collar, Leash, Carrier, Food, Medication, Bowls.
4. Describe anything else in Bedding (100 characters max), Toys (100 characters max), and Other (Unlimited characters).
5. If there are several pets on the booking, click each pet's name tab and fill in their items.
6. Click Ok.
7. Click Save at the top of the appointment.

Tip: Regular guest? Click Get Last to copy the belongings from the pet's last visit, then change anything that's different.

Add belongings from the dashboard

1. On the Dashboard, find the pet.
2. Open the pet's menu and choose View Belongings.
3. Fill in the items and click Ok.

On a schedule, the pet's Action menu has a Belongings option that does the same thing.

Print a belongings list

1. Go to Boarding Reports > Belongings.
2. Pick the Select Date :.
3. Under Print which?, choose All For Today., Departing Pets., Checked In Only., Not Checked In., or Checked Out.
4. Choose how to view it under View As (PDF, Html, or Excel) and click Ok.

Tip: Print Departing Pets. each morning so staff can gather items before owners arrive.

Reminder at check-out

If your business has the belongings reminder turned on, you'll see a message such as "Bella has belongings." when you check the pet out.

Common questions

Can I add belongings for a grooming or daycare visit? Yes. The Belongings button appears on boarding, daycare, grooming, training and special services appointments.

I clicked Ok but the belongings didn't stick. When you open belongings from inside an appointment, you still need to click Save on the appointment.

Who can see the Belongings report? Staff with access to Boarding reports. Ask your manager if it's missing from your menu.
