Resident Training in Kennel Connection creates linked boarding and training appointments for pets staying at your facility. Flexible pricing and package options let you bill these services together or separately, helping your business keep scheduling and charges organized for each stay.

Resident Training

Resident training is for pets that stay at your facility for a date range and receive both boarding and training. Kennel Connection creates linked boarding and training appointments for the stay.

Pricing settings

Click Setup > System Options > Training.

Include boarding in the resident training price

• Enabled: The invoice charges for training only. No boarding charge is added.
• Disabled: The invoice charges for both boarding and training.

Resident training charge

Choose whether training is charged for each day of the stay or once for the entire stay. For example, on a 10-day stay:

• Per boarding night: The invoice charges 10 days of boarding and 10 days of training.
• Single charge for entire stay: The invoice charges 10 days of boarding and 1 training charge.

Enable runs for training

If your facility requires runs for boarding pets, runs must be enabled for training before you can book resident training.

1. Click Setup > Lists > Runs.
2. Click each run that can be used for resident training.
3. Check the Training box and click Save.

Package setting

Under Setup > System Options > Training, choose how resident training packages apply:

• Board and Train: The package pays for both the boarding and training charges.
• Train only: The package pays for the training charge only. Boarding is billed separately.

Booking a resident training appointment

1. Find the pet in the Client Explorer. You can search by pet name, client name, address, phone number, or email address.
2. Select the pet(s), click Book, and choose Resident Training.
3. Choose the training type, if Training Types are enabled.
4. Choose the trainer, if applicable.
5. Choose the dates and times.
6. Click Save.

Invoicing

Resident training packages are applied when the invoice is created, not at checkout.
